After being asked by one of our players I thought it would be a good idea to explain the Dragon's Heart Pact to everyone so that you all understand how it is done.

The Dragon's Heart Pact can only be activated by a Dragon. Normal beings cannot activate this bond as they do not possess the magic and energies to do so. When a Dragon holds a certain level of trust and affection for an individual who has proven themselves worthy of the bond, they will choose on their own to instigate this special bond. Less than 6-7% of all Dragons throughout history have activated this bond, and those cases in which they did so have almost all been historically documented.

If the bond is forced, the Dragon's heart will reject the heart of the one trying to bond with it, and as a consequence the bond will be established, but it will corrupt them both to the core (literally). They will become mindless beasts who's soul purpose in life is to hunt and kill Dragons and those properly bonded to them.

So how exactly does the bond occur?

Simple.

The Dragon breaths a special blend of it's own life energy and "Soul Matter" into the body of the one it's bonding to. This breath is usually a mixture of bright blue, white, and reddish energies which will swirl around the individual in question and the Soul Matter will surround the individual as both substances are slowly absorbed into the body. The process takes approximately two minutes to complete, but once it is done it is done (and cannot be undone). This mixture of energy and Soul Matter is what establishes the link between the hearts and minds of the Dragon and the one it's bonding with.

Sound good? Great! Then whenever you wish to instigate this bond, you'll know how to do it. But be careful and don't rush it, because if you rush it chances are you'll botch the process. If you have any further questions, just ask me.
