Owings Mills, MD (Sports Network) - Baltimore Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb will miss the remainder of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, while linebacker Ray Lewis will also be on the shelf for the year with a torn triceps.
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed the diagnoses at his Monday press conference. The Baltimore Sun reported that an MRI taken earlier in the day revealed the damage to Webb's knee.
Webb left Sunday's 31-29 win against the Dallas Cowboys and did not return, departing late in the first quarter with an apparent leg injury, which was later downgraded to knee sprain. While defending a pass, Webb turned and his leg twisted awkwardly underneath him.
It's a blow to the 27-year-old fourth-year pro, who signed a lucrative $50 million, six-year contract in April. He finishes the season with 25 tackles and one interception in six games.
Lewis was forced out of the final two defensive series on Sunday, and was found to have a complete tear of the muscle. The 17th-year veteran out of Miami-Florida compiled 57 tackles and one sack in six contests.
